I'm a smelly hobo at the moment. Unkempt hair, scraggly beard, dirty skin/clothes, the works. My only savings grace is that the smell of campfire smoke masks the smell of sweat. Whenever I get into town on my hikes, I can strike up a friendly conversation with just about anyone I feel like. It's not even just me talking to them. Hell, usually I just say a few sentences and they spill their life story to me.
The reason the dude in OPs image is despised is not because he's a man, but rather because he carries himself like a gremlin. No confidence, visibly fake cheerfulness, and bad posture. He probably stutters and looks down when he greets people.
