I sold my house in the city to a friend, but I only had about $20k in cash after paying off the mortgage on that. I put $10k down on the property, spent $5k on a container (it has doors on both ends and was a one trip unit) and maybe another $5k on the shack. Honestly though, I have been borderline prepping since Covid started, so I had a lot of the small stuff already, like the solar setup. Other stuff I buy as needed, and get as cheap as I can. Did all the work myself.
Picrel is the container. It's dropped close to the property line. It houses mostly my tools, spare parts, and try goods. I "rested my eyes" in it for about two months while building the shack. Once the walls and roof were up on the shack, I moved in and worked on it as I went.
