Quails you have to get an incubator for, but they are ready to harvest for their meat and lay eggs in 6-12 weeks from hatching and are cheaper than chickens, also far less noisy. The egg and meat harvested from chickens is more, each have their benefits and draw backs. so have whatever suits you better, or even both if you want, they are not expensive to keep.

Millet is very nutritional compared to other grains(and non-grains but we include as grains for convenience of the conversation)
