One thing I've noticed amongst outdoors types is this idea that you have to hop in your car and go to (drop dead gorgeous national park) to enjoy being "outdoors". On top of that needing to bring hundreds of dollars of meme gear to do some specific and defined recreational activity. IE, Fish, hunt, hike, etc.
I've made it a point to try and get out closer to my home. Not in some scenic mountain range, nor acres and acres of sprawling woodland. But trying to incorperate being outside into my daily activities and routine. Instead of driving to the store. Walking the few miles across town. Instead of reading a book in my home, why not go to a local park? Just small things to increase the time I spend outside.
Hell sometimes I literally just wander. Just bringing some basic edc and a water bottle and wandering down roads and paths I've never been down just for the fun of it. Maybe I'll run into something neat. A pleasant creek to sit by on the edge of town or some cafe to grab a snack and watch the birds come and go.
Maybe what I'm saying is stupid. I just want to drive the point home for some anons about enjoying the outside around you. You don't always need to drive an hour plus, to some designated outdoors spot. But maybe its easier for me as someone in a safe, small-mid sized town, where there is inherently more nature just casually around.
