>>860293>that's a serious DIY knife let alone 8 of them. do you do metalworking for a living?Nope this was my first foray into knife kits. I've built some AR-15s from parts kits, that's it. But most of the work actually was with the wood. Cutting the scales to be flush against the bolster AND trying to drill the holes to match up perfectly was pretty nerve wracking. They all matched up pretty well but a couple that came out just the slightest bit off required me to spend about 1 hr each just to get all 3 screws in each scale at once. And then the shaping and fine sanding, about 99% of it had to be with the sandpaper wrapped around a little 1x2" block to maintain the edges I wanted, no plain sandpaper except on the last passes of 1000/1200/1500 grit paper... By the end I was sick of it.
All I did with the metal was lightly file and polish a few of them in certain spots to make the button locks more crisp and less likely to stick. The kit portions came together pretty flawlessly. Expected I guess, given their price.
