My google-fu is weak and the only types of places to camp I can find, you have to pay for a shitty spot with a whole bunch of people around. I'm looking for a place that is remote, non-paved, and low traffic. What do we have within 50 miles of VA Beach that some /out/siders have found and enjoyed that meet these criteria?

40L doesn't mean it has to be heavy.

I use a 35L myself, and it only weights 8kg, which includes 2L of water and 7 days of food. And I don't even consider myself to be an "ultra light backpacker".

I've seen people with 20L backpacks weighting as much as 10kg and barely enough food for a day.

and where are good places to hike/camp around Toronto, ON? I've looked at maps, every "park" seems to be at least a 2 hours drive away
