I can't say if the soil is good or not but it was good enough for the tree to start growing in. Should I add fertilizer at any point?
Should I keep it inside during winter (Iowa)? Or is it better to let it experience the natural weather if it looks like it's doing okay in the pot?
My real goal in transplanting this oak is to take its mycorrhizal Amanita muscaria partner along with it. I am 100% sure that the tree is colonized by the mushroom but whether the mycelium survives and fruits in the future will be the question. This mushroom can grow pretty aggressively so I'm hopeful.
