It's a 'natural' beach habitat for all sorts of birds and other wildlife so they never clean the seaweed mats or trash off of it and It's fairly close to Galveston Bay and Houston so all sorts of shit washes up there. I rode about 10 miles down the beach and there was some sort of trash about every 10ft or so on the beach. It was absolutely covered up with trash.... plastic bottles, 5 gallon buckets, broken pallets, empty oil / antifreeze jugs, plastic grocery and trash bags. It was really sad, it looked much worse in person.
