Today is literally day one of me shopping and making decisions for this and it looks like the cheapest I can get a flight to Seattle is next tuesday at 150, so there's 175(25 checked bag, christ) down. I'll buy the ticket later tonight.
I'm on craigslist right now checking out used backpacks and tents in my area, there's almost nothing but I did email a few people regarding their hiking backpacks and single man tents. I was really hoping to have some money for when I got there, to eat and get acquainted, but if I have to drop 200 on some used gear to get the quality I need, I guess I'll have to. The tent isn't such a big deal as the bag is I'm thinking.
