>>472008>>472012I'm actually part of the crew that goes along the border and clears brush and trees, surveys the monuments, and repairs them. It's a US-Canada treaty and both sides contribute. They used to use bulldozers in the more accessible areas but where I've been the past two summers was up in Alaska and the only means of getting to our job site was helicopter. It had been about 30 years since people had cut the line up there but due to the slow growth we were able to land.
It's always fun to find a monument like in
>>471988 and see who has stopped by and signed it. The weirdest one I've seen was one way above the Arctic Circle, at least 60 miles from the nearest village with a bullet hole, hatchet marks, and highlighter marker all over it.
