I'm looking for some tips for hunting small game (mostly squirrels and rabbits) with a recurve bow. I am new to hunting and I love the challenge of hunting with a recurve. That being said I haven't had much luck. My accuracy and concistancy is good I just have a hard time finding game to shoot!
Bowhunters, how do you go about finding small game without a dog? What kind of methods do you use? Do you find a nice tree with plenty of acorns at its base and wait for your prey to come around or do you silently stalk through the woods until you catch sight of something?
More specifically with rabbits, do you use the same strategy as shotgun hunters? That is, walk 10 meters, stop, then shoot anything that runs from hiding.
Any tips about hunting small game with a recurve would be appreciated.
I'm using judos on flu flus with 40#.
