And even if small man-made dams help fish, they damage invertebrates populations (fish food), and others, doing more harm than good.
And I agree, dams help fish, they need slow moving water, but that can be achieved by other means, like a reversed flow or oxbow lake (pic related is engineering for ecological compensation).
