I'm already carrying extra AA's, and if shit really goes south I can use batteries from one in another.

18650s are great, don't get me wrong. I use them in a lot of my designs.

Think they're 3400mAh though... either way, a fuckton more than most standard 18650 cells. Worth the money.
Problem I have with them is partly because there's so much capacity... Charger IC I used has a 6-hour charge timer, i'm pumping the maximum current the IC can do into it and if the batteries are low-ish it'll fault out before the unit's charged.
