Sweet Christ boys I could use some input.
Zone 7b Texas here and I'm trying to be as much of an environmentally friendly gay and shade my crops during the summer with natural methods.
I plan to use something similar to pic related for shorter crops like leafy greens, root veg, herbs, and beneficials where heat tolerant crops like melons, sweet potatoes, and malabar spinach will be trellised up the ass-load of pallets I have access to.
BUT, what can I do for trellised tomatoes when summer hits and we don't drop below 100 until fucking NOVEMBER? Any plants I can grow that create a shading wall while still being edible or otherwise beneficiary to the garden?
