>>1961231I've had several in various sizes and in my exp how well they work is very dependant on the quality of wood you're burning. If you're burning baked out hardwood they can do well as you can load it up with larger fuel but if you're burning ratty pine they get filthy and you're constantly tending it. The cheaper ones have a tendency to warp too, which isn't great.
The only decent wood burning one I've had is an OG Honeystove from the mid 00s, I'm not sure how the current ones are. This is the sweet spot I've for being able to practically load scavenged fuel of better than finger sized so you don't need to constantly feed it and quality, I've had this now for close to 15 years and nothing has warped, the only downside is they can bit a bit fiddly if you've got cold hands etc
I have a Ti Bushbox but I find it generally unsuitable to actually cook on due to the size unless you load it up with charcoal. It's ok to boil water with but again the quality of wood lays a huge part (filthy pots etc) works with a Trangia but again more for just boiling with than actual cooking
