Alright, planning a 500+ mile perhaps permanent canoe trip throughout the south and who knows where else. I'm travelling with two other strapping young lads that are up to the task and I was wondering what /out/ had to offer as tips for the trip, the best ways to go about such an endeavor and the types of gear that last through it all.
We're moving with the warm weather so we can minimize the amount of heavy and cold weather gear we have to bring.
So far we've got
*a canoe
*blankets
*hammocks
*tarps
*rope for days homie
* a mass water purification system
*rice(but what other bulk type food to bring?)
*fishing gear out da ass
*cooking gear
*some good boots
*dry bags
*artificial clothing and socks
*military grade medical kits
*rain gear
*knives of all sorts
*hatchets
* .22 semi-auto rifle with a 30 round mag in case we need to blow away a group of rowdy rednecks
Please help. Our budget is about 1500 dollars.
