Silver Carp on the other hand are the jumping bastards that completely take over waterways. Commons will tend to only take over water that is poor quality, low-oxygen water that native species struggle to survive in. In many water bodies and large river systems they’ve been introduced to, they have reached an equilibrium with the environment and there is no threat to native species- or any means to get rid of them. Unless it’s listed as invasive in your area, killing one is like pissing in the ocean. Commons and Mirrors are already in the great lakes. And their spawns mostly end up as food for native fish anyway. The Silver Carp is much more concerning.
