i have no clue where you can go and juust live on the land... sure you could probably try it in remote locations like catskill mountians or smokey mountians, but you will probably be caught. then what about food. unless you are already an avid outdoorsman and good hunter you will fund yourself walking to mcdonalds within the first 2 days.
other than that its really up to you, if you are mentally in for it or not. i watched this documentary once about a husband and wife that did tha to the extreme, went to Madagascar or something. they both were very sure about it when they started, but regretted it later on.
