>>2379340>Is there a way to just buy a few lengths of tent pole that's equivalent to the needed length?Sort of. You can buy tent pole replacement kits, which come as separate sections of poles that nest together, rod ends, and a length of shock cord. You then figure out how to cut them to length. Each kit is around $12 on Amazon for cheap ones, and they’re long enough to make a single 9’ pole. Also each kit only comes with two ends, so if you only need two 3’ poles you’ll need to buy two 9’ kits (I couldn’t find just the ends but maybe they’re out there somewhere).
If you’re looking to save a few ounces, cottage vendors sell DAC poles. DAC is a brand of poles made in Korea. They’re high quality extruded tubing, so they can be made with thinner material at the same strength. The Dutchware Gear poles for a hammock pole mod are about 4oz while the kit I used from Amazon is about 6oz.
