>>453479ive been thinking about this. im in the uk, so these rules might not apply to you, but this is my plan.
ill get a canalboat. nothing fancy, but it has to be cheap. electricity is a bonus, but not needed. log fire would be great too, but still not needed. cheap is the main thing.
then ill find a mooring spot, which needs to be as close to a large woodland area. i dont have a clue as to where yet, but this is a must.
id pay regular moor costs to the landowner, and since i would take regular breaks (camping etc.) i wouldnt technically live on my boat. (its illegal for most landowners to let people live onboard if they dont have a license, so people dont let you)
id then live a pretty quiet life honestly. i wouldnt, to my knowledge, have anything to worry about eg electricity bills and heating costs. as long as i had a good amount of wood (some i find myself, some i buy) to keep me warm in the winter then ill be fine. a bike too to get into town would be useful.
i think id like to pursue a career in landscape painting, and then use the money i get to pay for the mooring and my food. maybe publish a few books to get a steady trickle of income. sounds nice, right?
