Even if you're successful with one perfect ferro rod strike per fire, and it takes 3 attempts to light a fire with each shitty bic, you still get over 6,000 more fires out of the same 50 dollar bill. Plus all the other advantages that come with a more reliably flame-producing single-strike pocket-sized piece of equipment, like melting the ends of fraying ropes while away from camp or whatever other non-autist uses you can imagine.
