Couple years ago this week, before I moved overseas, I booked a Halloweeny campout with some friends during a torrential downpour. I carved a little punkin to bring into the woods just to help make it all bit cozier. One friend made it, the other was dealing with a flood in his basement from all the rain. We had such a great time, kept dry enough under the tarp and eventually the rain stopped and we read creepypastas, grilled up a whole cooler of shrimps, got drunk, and went one some crazy spoopy walks in the woods in all the wet and dreary. That wasn't quite the last jack o' lantern I ever carved but it was the last authentic one.
Despite being out in the rain all night, the candle never failed
