Idk if you can see in this pic, but it is one of the jigheads with the little spinner blade on it that I was describing earlier. Most retailers carry them by the beetle spins and small crappie plastics, not by the rest of the jig heads.
And if you just want to try some rubber baits besides the grubs, I have a lot of luck with minnows. Gulp! makes these little minnows with a curly tail like those grubs. That's what is in the pic. I also like those minnows with the thick round tails that kinda wobble in the water.
Especially if you get scented ones, fish seem to hang on longer. Sometimes with Rapalas and other hard baits, after a fish hits once, you might not have another chance if you don't hook it that first time. With those Gulp baits, I have fish strike at the lure multiple times on the same retrieve until they finally get the hole thing with the hook in their mouth.
