Yes, the burn bans in Canada are put in place regionally due to local conditions and the availability of firefighters. (This is the way it works in the USA as well as Europe. ) In Canada, a burn ban is referred to as a Restricted Fire Zone. If you violate these bans you can be fined, jailed and required to pay any costs incurred if your fire causes damages. The reason you can be fined or jailed is because violating a ban by building a campfire in an RFZ is illegal you fucking moron.
