I'm considering purchasing two Swedish LK35 steel frame surplus packs (pic related). I know surplus = cheap and uncomfortable, and I'm okay with that, but aside from discomfort is there a big downfall I'm missing?
I like the idea that the frame has a built in shelf so I can remove the pack and (unlike the ALICE) without adding a radio shelf, can strap all sorts of shit or dead animals to it and know that everything is secure.
I'm kind of meh about the pack itself being basically a small barrel, but I am also willing to sew my own side pouches if the need arises.
Any outside thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
