>>2512892>It all comes down to basic biology: There needs to be a big enough breeding population for them to exist, which could mean hundreds if not thousands of individuals in the US alone. We would have found them.In my country (Australia) there are millions more feral pigs and kangaroos than there are people, and the overwhelming majority of Australians have never seen either in the wild. Malcolm Naden, a fugitive from NSW, hid in the bush and evaded authorities for almost eight years, surviving in some of the harshest conditions in the World for a human. The police had to go to extraordinary lengths to capture him, setting up hidden cameras at campsites all over western NSW. There are other people who have gone into the outback with the intention of not being found who have never been seen again.
North America has some of the largest and most remote expanses of wilderness anywhere on the planet, and has environmental conditions that make it far more suitable for supporting human/primate life than Australia. It is entirely possible for a race of intelligent primates to evade detection is they don't want to be found.
