>>2473879yeah. broadly speaking that's Rapalas hallmark: the lures are very well tuned. Every lure comes out of the package behaving as it's supposed to and the action induces strikes.
Doesn't matter what type, size or shape: they make their lures do whatever it is its supposed to do and they can be counted on to perform.
I'm upset at strike king because, out of about a dozen strike king lures I own there has been a higher rate of failures attributable to quality of component. One of my red eye shad got a paint chip off on the nose - this led to a catastrophic loss of stability during retrieve and the lure canters off to the side because water flow is messed up. I have to take a file and try to even it out somehow but I can just tell it'll be a disaster the second I attempt it so I might try to build up the chipped area with epoxy? dunno.
The other problem: I bought 3, 300 sized KVD jerkbaits and out of those 3 2 came out of the package and didn't suspend correctly - that pisses me off. Rapalas never do that I've bought at least 30 xraps in sizes from 6cm all the way to 14cm, I've bought husky jerks and rattlin raps and rippin raps and countdowns and rip stops and shadow raps and BX walkers and xpop and xprop every single bait every single style comes out of the package working the way it should. A lot of other short comings can be forgiven including cost when the lures work reliably and you never feel like you threw away cash on a lure that doesn't work or has to be "fixed" or tuned at home.
