>>2640739the dunes were incredible. the really good mountain roads close in October so you're running out of time. i stayed way north of the dunes so thats the area i know. the road to Aspen is incredibly gorgeous and has a few excellent hiking trials. just look up hiking trails on all trials between copper mountain and buena vista and you'll be set. mt favorite were indepence lake trial (pic related) and mayflower gulch trail.
