The whole central coast is beautiful. From Santa Barbara up to Monterey. There are a hundreds of wonderful spots. Personally, my favorite town is Morro Bay, because it's striking and beautiful. There are elephant seal herds nearby it that you can walk around and look at. In Los Osos just south of Morro Bay, there's a beautiful wetland reserve you can wander around. The bay has sea otters and sea lions galore, and you can walk along the boardwalk by the marina, and stare into the water to water hoards of moon jellies float by.
It's very pretty, and pic related.
It's also wine country, so you can head over to Paso Robles and do wine tasting tours. But if you meant spring break like drunken, violent, loud and obnoxious? You won't be particularly welcome in that area.
