I used to use them for the opium because I was trying to find a way to get off heroin without getting on methadone. Poppy tea works wonders. Was able to wean myself off without having to take leave from work. Now I just think they are pretty. Also last summer I baked a batch of poppy seed muffins using only the seeds I grew.
