They know they wouldn't actually pick a bear. They just know it this is the one kind of thing that will get under our skin. Some of the more stupid women might think that we are somehow jealous of the bear, or that we'll all have an epiphany and start accepting and loving their bad behavior.
The the more astute women know that they are just being deliberately absurd. And are getting some kind of satisfaction from aggravating us.
The solution is simple. Stop caring. Stop engaging with them on the topic.
