I dont see this very often in the west, but Yunnan Baiyao is one of the few herbal medicines that I actually believe in and use regularly.
It encourages coagulation. It's very useful for scrapes, road rash, and small cuts. From my understanding the Vietcong used it for gunshot wounds as well.
I use it for both me, my dogs, and my livestock. It works really well, and tends to stop bleeding almost immediately.
