Last year they were even ripe too early (mid-August, lots of summer heat that came for a month after that got "wasted") as I used an early-ripening cultivar ("Red Star"), so this year I'm going for "Sugar Baby" and "Crimson Sweet", aiming for a bigger, early to mid-September harvest
