Drive around rural areas and ask for work. go to the restaurant in town that's crowded at about 6 am and tell the waitress you're looking for work. Most ranch work is hot, dusty, and generally uncomfortable. A lot of people romantasize it but make no mistake, it is hard work. Labor. Sweat of your brow, blood from your hands. That being said if you like it you can't do anything else and will be forever poor chasing money in the cattle business. Try to get part time work at a dairy farm in the UK, it'll give you some exposure to cows and their nastiness.
