Don't let me dissuade you from purchasing one though, I just don't want to endorse something that I know has a recurring issue due to design and not bring it to your attention just in case you end up experiencing it. Personally I like plain old dayton pattern hatchets (and boys axes) with a slow wedge taper. I have others but I pack a dayton for trips 90% of the time.
