>>2041575>Mild enough climate to grow year round with or without a greenhouseNo. Best growing season in all of Alaska is around 150 days and that's pushing the limit, over half the state has a growing season of less than 30 days and there are places farther south than Anchorage with no growing season and an average winter mean minimum temp of -45f (-43c). You can extend your growing season by up to a month or two at most with solar thermal heating greenhouses starting from April/May when there's at least 12-15 hrs of sunlight but it's extremely expensive as is amending the northern glacial soils. The climate in America is way harsher than Europe at any latitude, even on the coast, so if you're coming from England to south central AK it would be like moving to arctic Lapland but colder in winter and hotter in summer depending on how far from the coast you are. SE AK is pretty mild though, similar to coastal Norway but wetter. Alaska is essentially Scandinavia but with natural disasters (all of them literally), more mountains, and more extreme climate variations.
