The awning works quite well in heavy rain, though you need to shorten one of the support poles quite a bit to get it to drain properly. If you don't water will pool in the middle causing it to sag a bit.
The screen room is a nice addition but it is not 100% rated for wet weather. Water gets through the zippers in heavy rains, thought he floor is a solid tub/tarp like material so nothing gets wet from below which is awesome if you use it as a tent for sleeping.
Sometimes I wish I had the batwing style that don't require any support poles to anchor into the ground, but ultimately the pole design is more sturdy in strong winds.
