>>1375953when i was shopping for poles this spring i debated between the carbon cork and the alpine flz. i ended up going with the alpine flz becuase i wanted something that could fold up in a pack when climbing and i decided on aliminum over carbon fiber because i didn't trust myself (rightly) to not smack the shit out of them on rocks, which aluminum will shrug off but can put microcracks in carbon fiber, weakening them. i have since beat the hell out of them up and down the high sierra and they've eaten it all without a hitch.
