What do you think I do when it starts raining and I'm in my bivy then? Strip down and dance in the mud? If it's anything more than a light sprinkle I just accept that it's going to suck and I get going. This is because A: I can't go back to sleep already and B: I risk the rest of my gear getting wet and muddy if I decide to hide inside my bivy. I don't live in the PNW. If it starts raining where I live it usually rains very hard for a few hours then stops.
