>>777415>Good luck getting bass to go after a crankbait during the heat of the day in the middle of summerDeep water crankbaits are often my go-to for mid-day LMB during summer. As long as I can find open water structure like sunken islands and points with a weedbed in 35-40 foot of water, I make a killing. Big 10XDs and Rapala DT20s. My lake is crystal clear and has quality weed growth, fish can go and do go deep in the summer.
Point is it depends on the body of water as well, along time of year- mainly due to the water temp, weather conditions, and then lastly how well you can fish the lure. Most of it is dependent on reading the above situation- where am I, what time of year is it, what is the weather doing to the fish- and knowing what presentations are appropriate and also capable of being delivered effectively with your skillset and equipment.
