I've been putting together bits of gear over the years and this has been working pretty well for me, although I do want to replace my tent soon as it is pretty heavy. Next to that is my sleeping bag. Then my cook system where I have my fuel canister, stove, a sponge and soap for cleaning, as well as some goodies like tea and coffee inside. Water filtration is a Sawyer squeeze. The bag is for dirty water, the smart water bottles are for clean. My sleeping pad is the klymit 2. I haven't used that yet, that's brand new so I'm going to see how that works. I have a sleeping bag insert that if I know it's going to be a really warm night I can ditch my sleeping bag and just take that and gain some room. I wasn't a firm believer in pillows until I used one and now I absolutely love it, so I have my trekology pillow as well as next to that are gaiters for my boots so sticks and bugs stay out while I'm off the beaten path. Obviously you can't go anywhere without a baller hat, so that's always in my pack. I have my headlamp toothbrush utensils a little bit of paracord if I want to make myself a seat. I have two pairs of underwear, two pairs of socks and one shirt because I just embraced the stinky. Food wise I'm mostly have mountain house because it's light and I haven't gotten sick off it like some other solutions I've used. The only sort of outer place item I guess is my fishing stuff. I enjoy tenkara fly fishing, and this little kit weighs next to nothing. The only thing not pictured is my Leatherman wingman which is nice for fishing and is usually the only knife I carry. Also my boots which are muddy and outside, are redwing TruHikers.
