It took me about 2 months to sail from Gaspé shore to palm beach and it was a battle, current in the face plus prevailing winds coming from S-W most of the time. Main problem was that i was by myself and i could not really sail at night since i could not keep a watch for collision etc. I stayed outside in the ocean for the most part and i have gotten inside the ICW at Norfolk and got out in Beaufort. The ICW sucks and since i draw 6.3 i had enough of sailing in there really fast. But all and all it went better then i have expected and met tons of really cool people who did every thing they could to help me and i did make some real friends all over the east cost. My boat is in Florida right now and i am going back in about 2 months and i cant wait.
The boat cost me 44k plus all the upgrade another 20k. All my cash goes in there (even quit smoking) for the last 12 years. I started sailing when i was 31 now i am 42 and its the best thing i ever did in my life, just wish i would have started sooner. All the people that i have met all the stuff that i did learn money means nothing compare to that, chicks really dig sailors as well, shit my GF for the last 4 years is half my age and hot as fuck even tho i am just average. I did sell both of my old cars and all but i have zero regret and i will keep sailing until i am tired of doing it or that my hearth stop pumping.
