mid 20's virginia boy here. Also self teaching myself to hunt. Fished a lot as a kid but no one in my family has ever done like any kind of hunting ever. Been getting into hunting for the last few years(was out of the country all last fall and winter though)

My background: I am an eagle scout and was always playing in the woods in general when little. Learned a lot about survival and primitive living...actually run a wilderness survival/primitive skills camp for kids all next week. Once I had a decent job I started getting into guns and shooting that lead to hunting and having no fucking clue how to start, where to go, or what I needed.
