>>1307930Easy. I am not doing a 100% indoors. I never said that. I am testing the kratky method as an alternative to a real soil vegetable garden because my grandfather is too old to work the vegetable garden and kratky doesn't require as much work as real soil.
The location I chose is a north facing glass porch because basically nowadays that is the place where my grandfather spends most of the time reading and the like. The porch has huge glass doors and windows that can be left open thus it is basically an extension to the garden.
I do grow all seedlings is a small grow tent indoors with a 45W LED. Right now it houses the lettuces. I start like 6 lettuce plants every week and once they are like a month old I move them outside.
The experiment is going pretty well. My grandfather is kept entertained and I do most of the work anyway.
I may get a bigger grow tent and a stronger LED so I can grow some things in the winter but I haven't decided yet.
