If you see this post relatively soon, you should absolutely go up and hike around Mt. Rainier. The wildflowers up high should be just about peak, and the air quality is quite good right now. By mid August the wildflowers will have started to die off - they peak and die quickly. One warning though, the mountain is going to be fucking packed on a weekend. They are paved trails and it's absolutely beautiful, but it's very very busy with tourists from all over the world.
