>>2063578I don't think they're a meme. You just have to use them in the right situation. I have a pair of gtx asolo drifter's I've owned for 10 years that I only use in the winter time. I have two pairs of trail-runners, one gtx, one not. If I'm doing an extended hike or the weathers nice I use non-gtx trail runners. If I'm just out for the day this time of year, wet, muddy or raining I use the gtx pair and save wear and tear on my non-gtx pair. It's nice to have a few different tools in the shed.
