Hey /out/. Canadian here going canoeing with my dad this weekend. It's roughly going to be 60km of canoeing downstream in flatwater with occasional class 1-3 whitewater and two 200m portages. We plan to camp out somewhere in between.
I have about 5 trips worth of similar whitewater experience in the canoe, but only about 4 hours worth of paddling each time.
The problem is me and my dad included really know nothing about camping out nor how to be prepared for the unknown on extended trips. I already read the 10 essentials sticky, but If /out/ could give general camping tips (what a good camping site should look like, things to bring) and maybe the not-so intuitive things you would need with you on the canoe just in case it'd be really helpful.
