I have cacao plants that I got from growing seeds from my great grandmas tree.
These are older pictures of them, its now been 3 months and 7 of them are strong enough to withstand wind. I'll have more recent pictures of them later in the day. I havent been too kind to them, I kind of forgot about them for a bit and let the rain handle them as they sit underneath the mango tree.
I live in the tropics and my island has a tropical rainforest zone that I have family in.
Now, I know these plants can grow there. They sometimes just end up on the side of the road rarely. When I asked a relative who lives out in the rainforest area if he knew anything about them he said he sees them off the side of the road in some parts.
What I want to know is if you guys have an understanding of where these things grow best. Is there a soil type I'm looking for, is there a manner I need to prepare the area?
Being that I've been to dominica where I got the seeds I'm familiar with the environment where it grows but, I've got to be cautious as I want to do this right.
