I found the remains of a radiosonde, while on a random no-trail hike. It's one of those things hauled up into the sky by a weather ballon, that measures atmospheric conditions and radios the data to meteorologists. It was hopelessly smashed to bits, so I left it where I found it. They are cheap, disposable technology that falls to the ground when the balloon bursts.
