You use a chain saw to cut down the tree and cut it into lengths, then you use a mail/ax/wedges or a hydraulic splitter to process the rounds into wedges so they dry out faster and are a manageable size that will fit into a fire place or wood stove. Unless you only happen to ever cut up like 8” or smaller trees.
